I keep telling myself that today I am going to open my journal. Then the day goes by. The next morning I say the same thing. Throughout the day I probably have at least 4 or 5 false starts. I may even pick it up then put it right back down.
Why?
I have many very acceptable reasons that I can tell myself. There are other things I need to get done right now. I haven't any idea what to put in there today. If I start this now I wont get other things done. Mostly, I don't want to mess it up. But that isn't it exactly. The purpose of the journal is to play. So nothing will mess it up.
Well I have figured out part of the problem. I have no idea how to translate what I am picturing or feeling to the journal. I want to look back and remember what was going on that day. I have no trouble writing the words. In fact I have trouble editing all the words I want to put down. But to transfer that into another medium. That I am having trouble doing.
I know I know just the colors you choose for the day say something about your frame of mind. But sometimes I want to have a good representation for what it going on. Yet it does not exist but in my mind. How do you get it out?
Now see I just created a challenge for myself didn't I?
I we will have to see what I come up with...

Extroverts vs Introverts
I ended up telling a bit of my story on a psych site that I found interesting. and I got some very interesting replies! Here is the link. I am very curious to see where the discussion on this forum will take me.

Time to tie up some ends...
Thats right. it's time to get busy and get some of these started projects rollin and possibly find a way to wrap em up. We are coming up on my deadline for the glamper (Sept 7th) but not enough work has been done on it to even try to take it out. So I will need to offer up my space to someone who can go instead.
I have some classes I signed up for online. I need to get my supplies ready and get them taken care of. I know I will have some pretty neat projects as a result. maybe even a Christmas gift or two when I am done. So it would be a great use of my time to get to work on them right away.
then there is the house, taxes and life in general. It is time to buckle down and get back to it. the responsibilities are inescapable. LOL
I will post things as I go. Maybe that will be a motivator? Yeah right... :)

I want to play!
I want to get my hands dirty and inky and painty and just sit/stand out in my studio and just play until something happens that looks fun and funky and just kewl because I got to play and learn and have my materials begin to meld as they do when you get to play with them for more than 10 or 20 minutes.
That was a very long running sentence but I think my point has been made. I am back to grabbing time just to quickly put ink to paper then have it not be what I wanted at all but no time to figure out what to do with it next. I have homemade colored mist all over my kitchen island, on a couple of scrap papers and a quick couple of pages in my journal. None of it looks anything like anything. They are just speckled color obviously sprayed on the page. LOL
Maybe THIS weekend I will get a chance huh?
I'll stop complaining now. I am actually in a mood about something entirely different. But I really don't want to go there this late. No sleep in 5 days can make a person cranky as an old lady when her shows aren't playing. Or when the president is on! Good Night

February is almost over
So I started a new job! it is for an online scrapbooking store called, BlueMoon Scrapbooking. I really like the vibe they have it is such a positive place. The owner is great. If you have not shopped here before you gotta try. He calls every customer to let them know their order is being shipped and of there are any issues he will work it out. Always with a great attitude. I hear some of the calls and I tell ya, it may be impersonal to use a computer to shop but they make it personal by touching base and letting you know your order and business is important to them.
I am really glad to be back in the game out in the world even if it is only a little. I got to start out slow and that really helped me build up my stamina. We all know I don't sit so the only obstacle was staying on my feet for 6 or more hours at a time. but I'm doing ok. I had a couple of days, not in a row, that I had to beg off going in. I've held up fairly well.
I am so glad to get back in the Paper Crafting world again too. So much out there I missed and so much out there on it's way! I am not sure I will actually make any money. but I WONT be using other wise budgeted funds for my habit. If you look back through my history I have always worked to fund my wants. When I wanted a car to drive I worked to have the payment. when I wanted to keep my computers going I worked teaching others how to use them to keep me in ink and equipment. So know I work to keep me in scrap-booking supplies. That I of course hoard. LOL. Hopefully I will have some art project or scrapbook something of other done to post.
Other than that I have been Pinterest(ing) like crazy! So many Canned Ham ideas and home decor ideas to figure out how I can do. :)
God Bless and Good Night!

January Already!
Well here it is the first of the year. I really want to make a big change here at the house this year. Get it not just organized and clean, but really make it reflect us. We are empty nesters now and both of us want to be more select in what we surround ourselves with in our home.
We want inviting and comfortable. But also want a neat not cluttered look. I still need an easy to keep up house.
Through years as we have collected things I had insisted they be usable in some way. We didn't worry much about the value of a piece as much as the nostalgia it brought and it's usefulness to us. Don't get me wrong we know and love the items we have that are collectors grade. But we still want them to be incorporated into our everyday. I want to use my Pyrex mixing bowls. I used em all through my childhood and teen years learning to cook. Why stop using them now?
At this point I want memories around me vs things. Stories. I want every item to have a reason for making the cut. The steamer trunk we bought at the swapmeet when we first moved here. The only coffee table/end table/corner stand/tv stand/book shelf etc... we could afford on our small budget that always and still serves as storage for our Christmas decorations. Vintage mirrors or art by family with family photos are what I would rather have up on the walls. Dishes that are actually used and clear out the extra stuff. Coffee mugs! I hate them!! No more advertising cups, mugs etc... I ban them all LOL
Now the only problem is with my trouble deciding what "style" we want to focus on so our house doesn't feel all chopped up. They say you can never go wrong if you go with what you like? I figure they invented the term "eclectic" just for me ;) !
We are;
Vintage Western Traditional Retro Modern Cottage Shabby French Bistro Diner.
This undertaking just might end me and anyone who tries to help. But I plan to enjoy it thoroughly!
God Bless and Happy New Year
